Return, Exchange & Credit Policy

Introduction

At Goomti Art & Design Studio ("Goomti", "we", "us", or "our"), each product is thoughtfully curated and often handcrafted, involving significant time, skill, and resources. This policy outlines the terms governing returns, exchanges, and store credits for purchases made through our platforms or stores.

By completing a purchase with Goomti, you agree to the terms set forth below.

Eligibility for Returns

We accept returns under the following conditions:

Items must be unused, uninstalled, and in original condition
All tags, packaging, and accompanying materials must be intact
Return request must be raised within 7 (seven) days of delivery

Approved returns will be issued as a store credit only. No monetary refunds will be processed, except in cases specified under Clause 5.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or exchange:

Items purchased during sale or promotional events
Customized, commissioned, or made-to-order products
Items that have been used, installed, altered, or damaged after delivery

Store Credit Terms

Store credit is valid for 12 (twelve) months from the date of issuance
It may be redeemed online or at Goomti stores
Credit notes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash

Refunds (Exceptional Cases Only)

Refunds will be processed only under the following circumstances:

Incorrect product shipped
Product(s) missing from the order
Product received in a damaged or defective condition (subject to verification)

In such cases, Goomti reserves the right to offer a replacement, store credit, or refund, at its sole discretion.

Return & Exchange Process

a) At-Home Collection (Within Kolkata)

Request via:

  • Email: customercare@goomti.com
  • Call/WhatsApp: +91 7890077999 / +91 7890330999
  • Timings: Monday to Saturday, 11:30 AM – 6:30 PM (IST)
  • A pickup fee of ₹200 will be deducted from the credit note
  • Response timeline: Within 48 working hours

b) In-Store Returns

  • Returns can be made at any Goomti store free of charge

Exchanges

  • Exchanges are limited to size variations only, where applicable
  • Applicable only for the same product, design, and colour
  • If the requested size is unavailable, a store credit will be issued

Gifts

  • Returns or exchanges of gifted items require:
  • Original order number
  • Email ID used for purchase
  • Store credit will be issued as a gift card, without notifying the original purchaser

Damaged / Defective / Incorrect Orders

  • Do not accept delivery if packaging is visibly damaged
  • Report issues within 48 hours of delivery
  • Share supporting images and order details via email or WhatsApp

Failure to report within this timeframe may result in rejection of the claim.

Missing Items

  • Report within 48 hours of delivery
  • Resolution timeline: 24–48 hours upon verification

Shipping Charges

  • Return shipping costs are borne by the customer
  • If the return is due to a manufacturing defect or fulfilment error, Goomti will bear the shipping cost
  • Any original shipping charges or gift wrap fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from the credit note

Complaint Window

  • Any complaint raised after 15 days from delivery will not be entertained

Limitation of Liability

Goomti shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from product usage, delays, or inability to process returns beyond the scope of this policy.

Governing Law

This policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Kolkata, West Bengal.
